the
scorched earth: spoken, 2002
(selected readings from the chapbook the scorched
earth)
This
cd companion to the scorched earth chapbook was recorded
by Andy Tolins, famed blues and bluegrass man of AAA
Blues Band (check him out at www.porkchopmoney.com),
and Gene Goldberg, Easter Sunday 2002 in Julian Woods,
PA, and by Bob Klotz during Dora's live performance
for 2002 WORDSTOCK: State College's Annual Festival
of Language (www.wordstockfestival.org). Bob, who
is sound engineer extraordinaire (and a great musician!)
also managed all post-production of the cd with typical
humor and grace...check out www.klotzaudio.com.
When I finished this cd, I realized once again just
how blessed I am by the many friends who have supported
and assisted me in so many creative projects like
this one. Thank you ALL, especially Andy and Bob,
Elaine (www.webstersbookstrecafe.com), the Invincible
Mighty Bill Wilgus, who did more graphic design of
the jewel case insert that I kept saying I wanted "to keep simple" than is even imaginable,
and Chris Nelson (http://www.cnelsondesign.com/),
who helped keep me sane in the thick of final production
during WORDSTOCK freneticism.
My
gratitude for and to each of you is enormous!

| This documentary of my efforts as poet, activist and teacher was made last year by a truly amazing woman, who happens to be a film major here at Penn State. In the process of making this film, I had the honor of learning to call Kate my friend and sister. The poem "My Fear is My Greatest Weakness" is dedicated to her, with gratitude for her friendship and presence in my life. |
